131/365

Wow, look what keeps coming out of boxes.

Syx bought this for me a few years ago and I never used it. Sorry honey, but I'm excited about it today!

Hidden in a box.

Contax G1, Carl Zeiss Planar 45mm, f2 lens

Doing a little early spring cleaning and my husband pulled this out of a box. I can't wait to get this little gem some batteries and try it out!

130/365

....and we're back on track. HP went down to bed, Syx is at school so I decided to break out the sparklers and glow sticks and try light painting, which I have never tried on my own. It took a bit of trial and error with materials and exposure time- I found the glow sticks didn't give off enough light in this setting, but I suspect they would be great in a darker setting. This was using a sparkler and I'm at ISO 100, f9, with a 6 second exposure, no edits

It looks magical in my living room tonight!

Big fails.

I've been having a hard time keeping up with the 365 project between working, participating (trying to) in a writing class and planning an up and coming toddler art class at the Mt. Pleasant Community center. So here's to pressing forward and not obsessing over the missed days, like I would normally do. So here's what I do have, there are gaps in days and I'm not sure that they're all in order - expect to see me back tomorrow with day 130.

Alex Stoddard

Alex Stoddard is 17, and had never used his camera outside of it's auto settings before he started the 365 project. His work is completely inspiring and thought provoking. If he's producing these types of images at 17, I can't even begin to imagine what he'll be shooting in 10 years.

Anyhow. He also uses flickr like a lot of my peers seem to be- plus I just downloaded Lightroom 3.3 which has an option to directly upload to flickr- so I jumped on the bandwagon - I'll probably be uploading some images in the next few days and checking things out.
